The Rumble at Panorama and Fairfax

This story starts out like most, once upon a time but it wasn’t that long ago An amazing group of young men had beaten each and every foe

Oh how they could run, jump, pass and soundly shoot the ball

They out scored each and every foe with no trouble at all

There was no doubt they were good almost an insurmountable team They were thought to be invincible at least that the way it seemed

Their heads started to swell and they quickly got cocky so you see

“We are all that and a bag of chips”; with themselves they were very pleased

Oh my great goodness, we are so awesome that we can even defeat the best We are so good not even the old men of the ward could stand up to this test

Their leaders said Beware of pride in your hearts for your fall will be great You need to humble yourselves and repent or pain will be your fate
But the Boys didn’t learn and they let their egos do way too much talking The were shooting off at the mouth and were cocky and did a lot of squawking
Why we can beat anyone and a challenge they did send forth to all the old men You may have been good once in your life, but your time has come to an end
As a team we are great and the old men we will beat let this be understood When it comes to basketball we are kings of the 90 by 50 hunk of hard wood
The old men were truly gracious and humble, but did not take this challenge lightly We will play and do our best that’s all we can do, they said very politely

The rumble on Panorama took place and all present said it was an incredible hoot

You see you can’t score a basket if you are not able to see the net when you shoot

The Old Men's defense was stifling and for the boys it was like being in the slammer When the boys tried to get inside to score, it was like being hit by a sledge hammer
The young men played exceptional well and tried to win with all of their might But they were outmatched and it was like bringing a knife to a gun fight
All of Heavyweights play was superb and the outcome was seen by plenty The young men went down in flames and were defeated and lost by twenty
The moral is although you can run, jump, shoot, and you think you can play Don’t challenge the old men to a game especially those that can whip a buffet
