It got better!!!

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, it did. Jennifer took Anita and I out for a birthday dinner at PF Changs. It was superb. To top it off she got me a snuggie. I think she thought it was a joke, but I like it. If I ever get to use it. As soon as we got home Anita stole it, well I let her use it. Thanks Jenn.

What a Day!!!

What a fantastic day. I am so blessed. I got to speak to all my children, 5 live in other states, and several of my grandchildren called and sang to me. My two brothers called and also my dad. The Galyan girls, parents and grandparents, came over and sang to me, and they also brought cup cakes. I am going out to dinner tomorrow night with my two in town daughters for a birthday dinner. Two of my BFF's of all time called from Utah and wished me a happy birthday. Several friends and family memebers, left greetings on my face book account and on my blog. My wife served me breakfast in bed, cooked my favorite meal, and made me a German chocolate cake. Yes sometimes life is very good. Thank you to all for making my “B” day so awesome, and a very special thanks to all my "Posterity".

Went by way too fast!!!

Just got back from visiting our newest grandson in New Mexico. After further inspection, we have decided he is definitely a keeper. What a wonderful time we had. Hated to come home. The twins were a ball of fire from dawn till setting sun. Gosh they have so much energy. We got them up and fed them breakfast and let the parents sleep in a little each day. How fun that was and the time was so precious. We took them to the park in their little radio flyer red wagon. They are so loving and so much fun. We got to see and play with Brady Cameron. What a beautiful and fun baby. We are so blessed. I just wished they lived closer so we could wee them more often. Oh well its only mortality, I am banking on being together with them for an eternity. You bet your bippy we are having joy in our posterity.

How Blessed are We!!!

Brady Cameron born July 31, 2009
Maggie Jane born May 1, 2009
Our family has grown by two adorable grandchildren this year. We are so happy, so pleased and so blessed. Not only are they beautiful, but they are perfect. We now have 13 grandchildren. We love them all very much and do not take this blessing lightly and thank Heavenly Father everyday for his tender mercies towards our family. I know families are forever. I can not imagine going to heaven and not having my family. It just doesn't make since to have families in this life and to learn to love them and then go to a better place and not have families there. Families are an eternal principle. I think it speaks volumes, that the great God of heaven, Elohim, chose to be called Father. At Jesus Christ's baptism, God spoke and said, "Behold by beloved son in whom I am well pleased". In Romans 8 it says , 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. The relationship between parents and children is an eternal relationship. I know that our family will be together forever and we will live with Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ if we live a Christ like life. May we all strive to be good Christians and to love God by serving and loving his children.

Number 13 is a Keeper

WOW!!! What a pretty baby. Brady Cameron, 9 pounds, 4 ounces, and 20 and 1/2 inches long. Mother and baby are doing well. Just look at all that gorgeous hair. Our 13th grandchild arrived in great fashion Friday. We've been told he is a good eater and good sleeper already, and we can't wait to see him. On the way home from the hospital, Brady stopped at Sonic for his first "happy hour" drink. Grandchildren are definitely a tender mercy from the Lord. As usual, I am having Joy in my Posterity, thanks for asking!!!!

Summer Time Fun

The last of our visitors left today and it was very sad. For three weeks “the joint” was a rocking. I took them to LAX by myself. I reminisced all the way home. Just about white lane I saw a garbage truck and teared up. Cooper loves, loves, loves garbage trucks. On trash day we would go out and watch the garbage truck all the way down the street. We have had so much fun. We had 6 of our 7 children come in the last 3 weeks and had 10 of our 12 and 7/8 grandchildren here. We swam, went camping in Sequoia, fished and caught fish, saw the general Sherman tree, saw the new Harry Potter movie, swam, fed the ducks, ate at In-n-Out, a family favorite, saw cousins, swam, went to the park, had a bear in camp, no pictures, the bear wouldn’t cooperate, had 10 – 12 deer come into our camp, swam, had a picnic, a fireworks extravaganza, just to mention a few things. As always joy in my posterity.

Summer Time, Summer Time, Sum, Sum, Summertime

Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer....I really enjoy summer time. Not just for the obvious things like homemade ice cream, corn on the cob, home grown veggies, swimming, 4th of July, picnics, camping, you know all the fun stuff. But I am really stoked that most of my children will be coming home for a visit. Sunday in church, 5 of my 7 children and 10 of 12 grandchildren will be present. It's hard, as most of you know we have 7 children living in 4 states. I went to the airport yesterday and picked a few guests. 4 of my TX kids came into town for a visit. How did you guess? As a matter of fact, I am having Joy in my Posterity. Stay tuned for pics and more fun.

In God We Still Trust!!!

Diamond Rio's new song. Not being played because it's not politically correct. I am really confused, I don't know what is and what is not politically correct. Never mind I don't care. I only know what I believe to be right. What should we do. Roll over and play dead OR do something. We need prayer in school, in government, in meetings, at scouts, parades, etc. You know, I can't think of one place we don't need PRAYER. Can you? Take a stand or don't complain.

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.'
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American....There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people." Theodore Roosevelt 1907

That's the way My DAD did it.

My father didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it." -- Clarence Budington Kelland

Amazing Basketball Shot

Obama says we are not a Christian nation

I say we are a Christian nation and I know many of you feel the same way I do and are just as passionate. We NEED to start acting like it or the blessings from God will be severly limited. Please tell everyone you know to proclaim Christanity not only by word of mouth, but by our thoughts and deeds. Let's do it NOW!!!

Just got this in the mail and had to try it on. Man oh man those are some dang cute kids. If you can't read the caption it reads, "The two cutest Laker fans call me Papa.

Happy Father's Day to Me

My 5 beautiful daughters.

Jason and Jeremy about 1978
The Magnificent 7 The first day of school August 1987.
This Sunday is father's day and I have been asked to speak in church on faithful fathers in the scriptures. I am really looking forward to the topic. I started to think about my own fatherhood and would just like to declare that I am truly a blessed man. I love my children and they have been the greatest source of my joy. Now I am not saying I have be a faithful father, although I have tried. I would just like to share some highlights of me being a father and my beautiful children called the "magnificent seven". I consider myself to be the richest man on earth. A tender mercy from God and I am eternally grateful. I am having Joy in my posterity and will for millennia to come as promised by the Abrahamic Covenant.

Lakers are the 2009 NBA Champions

Yea! The Lakers are the 2009 NBA Champs. I have been a diehard Laker's fan since the mid sixties and have enjoyed the ups and downs of the Lakers. So you know I am enjoying this championship. Kobe was the finals MVP. Phil Jackson has won more championships as a player and a coach than anyoneelse - 10. The Lakers have won their 15 overall championship. Go Lakers!!

Jason and Family Newest Pic

OK, as a totally unbiased observer, I must admit, that’s a very good-looking family. They must have some pretty amazing genes. The boys are so so handsome and if all the girls were dinosaurs, they would be Babasaursess. Absolutely stunning.

Lakers Win!!!

The Lakers won in overtime and go up 3-1 in the series. Yes we are happy again. GO LAKERS!!!

Thai Peanut Sauce

Many of you know that I am getting ready to go on a couple of backpacking trips this summer. I am always looking for a tasty, quick, and easy backpacking recipe. I have found several I really like. If you like Thai food, you’ll like this one. It’s a peanut sauce over ramen noodles. At home you would use a better noodle. Peanut Sauce 2 scallions, 1 clove of garlic, 2 T soy sauce, hot sauce to taste, 1 T sesame oil, 1 T rice wine vinegar, 1 T sugar, 1 T Peanut oil, 1/3 cup chunky PB, 1/3 cup sesame seeds, 1/4 cup cold water, Put in a blender and make a sauce. Then I dehydrated the concoction and walla, backpacking Thai peanut sauce. Garnish with scallions, sesame seeds, and peanuts. Enjoy, I know I did.

Abraham, Martin, John and Stuart

I was out on my morning walk, just thinking about all kinds of this and that. I was walking down Panorama and went by Foxwood. Foxwood Street is the former street of a great friend that has passed on. Stuart Anderson. A flood of memories came into my mind. Camping trips to Stoney Creek, Yosemite, and Camp Wishon. Ward outings, father and sons outings, trips to Tijuana and the Holiday Bowl. So many memories. One father and sons outing at Britte lake, both our sons were grown, and I was just going up for the evening and driving back that night. After dinner, Stuart had set up a tent, so I went over and we started to talk. We stayed up talking most of the night and about 2 or 3 am, I decide to stay. I'm glad I did. Another memory was a camping trip to Stoney Creek. Our transmission in our van went out the day before we were to leave and had no way to pull our trailer. We were gong to have to cancel our trip. Stuart said no way. I can pull your tent trailer with my motor home, and he did. Once at Camp Wishon, a child had released the brake on his motor home and it started to roll down hill. He ran and dove into the door and stopped the motor home just be fore it hit a tree. I think there are about 7 billion people on this planet and Stuart had talked to 4 billion. Ok that’s an exaggeration, but I am sure he’s talked to at least 2 billion. He never met a stranger. He was so ticklish and loved to laugh. His stories were a little brash, but when he finally got to the punch line he laughed more than I did. I still miss my friend.
