**Hiking, Hammocks, and Having Fun**

I got up this morning and decided to go and do a little fishing. I packed up my backpack and headed out for parts unknown. OK maybe not unknown, just a little ways up the canyon. I wanted to see how my walking was coming along. The canyon was so crowded, I went above McNally’s. Let me tell you something. Walking on level ground with a 25 pound pack and walking in the mountains with a 25 pound pack, is completely different. I definitely need some more work. I set up my hammock and did a little fishing. The hammock looks like a ufo, but it's really the rain fly. I was using crickets and caught 4 fish. The biggest one was about 8 inches, and the others about 6 inches. I released them all. I fried up some bacon eggs with my home made alcohol stove, then took a little snooze in my hammock. The hammock has a mesh netting on the top to keep all the little critters out. One of the pictures is from the inside looking out at the trees to show the netting. The entrance is on the bottom. When you sit down it closes and the Velcro closure seals it very well. Much better to sleep in a hammock than on the ground. In this hammock I can sleep on my side. I hope you enjoy the pictures I really enjoyed taking them.

Looks like fun. Thanks for posting your camping experience.
Maybe in a few year we will be able to join the fun.

The mountains are very different than the city... glad you came to our neck of the woods. (You were close enough.) Looks like fun- and yes, the canyon was very crowded!
