Birthday Golf at Avila Beach

My dad just celebrated his 77th birthday in July and is going strong. My two brothers, my dad and myself, all went and played golf at Avila Beach. You'll notice the kids are in shorts and the two old men are wearing long pants. A special thanks to Terry for bringing his camera and for Janice to figure out how to send me the pictures. We met at my dad’s house about 3:45 am and had a 7:22 am tee time. We drove to San Luis country club. It was just an amazing day. Great company, beautiful scenery, some down right funny moments, with some serious laughter, away from work for the day, and absolutely fantastic weather. On the course we saw about 10 to 12 head of dear, 30 or so Canadian geese, and about 200 to 300 hummingbirds (sorry no pictures of the honey birdies as Cooper says). Truly one of the prettiest golf courses I have ever seen. To top it off we all shot the same score. We all shot 95. After golf we went and had clam chowder and fish and chips. We laughed, talked about all the funny things we had seen in our life, tried to get on each other’s nerves while golfing, mission accomplished. A couple of the comments were “ Man o man look how tight his forearms are, he’s going to hit the ball a long way”. Or just before some one would putt, “ wow that will break 10 or 12 inches”. We all had a marvelous time. I love my brothers and I love my dad and am thankful for a very memorable day.
