Mother's Day

I’m not sure what can be said that hasn’t already been said about Mother’s day, but I’ll give it the old college try. First I would like to acknowledge and say thank to my Heavenly Mother. No one disputes that we have a Heavenly Father, reason dictates and the Holy Ghost has born witness to me that we do indeed have a Heavenly mother. We were raised and nurtured by her side. I am sure that for obvious reasons, Her name isn’t mentioned in the scriptures. Look how mankind has profaned the name of deity. Secondly, I would like to recognize my own earthly mother. What a great woman she was. She past away two years ago and it just seems like she was just here. I was taught to be honest and respectful of others, and to be a good human being. She was selfless and always concerned about her boys. Growing up she polished my shoes, took great care of me and combed my hair everyday, even thru high school. I love you mom and I still miss you. Next I would like to acknowledge and pay tribute to my mother-in-law. A great and wonderful lady. She is in the last days of her mortal probation and will soon be joined with her departed husband. She was an excellent mother and had 5 amazing daughters and a awesome son, and taught them well. I was always treated like a king when I went to her house and will miss her deeply. Next my daughters and my daughters-in-law. What can a man say about the mother of his grandchildren? I am truly in awe of them and their abilities. They are all so loving, so caring, and so nurturing to my grandchildren. They not only teach the gospel, but more importantly they live it. I am so proud to have them for eternity and to have such a great posterity. Last but not least, the mother of my children, my best friend and confidant, thirty six years of marriage and we still love each other. What an elect lady, and amazing women she is. So selfless and always so concerned about the well being of her children, her grandchildren, and me. She is so talented. She sews, cooks, knits, paints just to name a few of her talents. I think her greatest talent is her testimony of Jesus Christ. I am sure if you looked up mother in the dictionary, her picture would be there. I love her so much and am so lucky to have her for an eternal companion. I am sure we all have these feelings about our mothers on Mother’s day an rightly so. Let's make this Mother's Day a very special day in the lives of all women. Let’s make Mother's day everyday and have Mother's day 365 days a year.

That was tender, thanks! BUT...Grandma J also had a son, not just 5 daughters!

What a fitting tribute. The mothers in your life are blessed to have such a sensitive and thoughtful son, father, and husband.
